Concentration Tracks
UBTTA offers six core classes taught in person at two locations and online to facilitate attendance by pastors, church leaders, and lay persons in the Houston and surrounding areas. In addition, three Concentration Tracks are available.
Classes are held once a week from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Introduction to Preaching
This course is to develop the basic skills to sermon preparation.
Includes:
Preaching Through the Gospels – designed to develop the skills of preaching through the genre of gospels literary.
Preaching Through the Epistles – designed to develop the skills of preaching through the genre of epistles.
Preaching Through the Narratives – designed to develop the skills of preaching through the genre of the narratives.
Preaching Through The Prophets – designed to develop the skills of preaching through the genre of the prophets.
Evangelistic Preaching – designed to develop skills to preaching with the goal of bringing people to faith in Christ.
4 Courses
Evangelism
This course introduces the basic concepts of sharing your faith.
Includes:
Personal Evangelism – designed to develop the skills of preaching through the genre of gospels literary.
Church Growth Evangelism – designed to develop the skills of preaching through the genre of epistles.
Theology and History of Evangelism – designed to develop skills to preaching with the goal of bringing people to faith in Christ.
Introduction to Apologetics, Sects & Cults – designed to develop basic skills of how one defends their faith.
Introduction to Missions – This course is to develop a theological approach to missions through the motif of the Bible.
5 Courses
Introduction to Christian Education
This course is designed to develop the foundations and philosophy of Christian Education withing the local church and denomination.
Includes:
Sunday School – designed to present the history, purpose, and strategies of Sunday School development and its need in the 21st century.
Small Groups – designed to demonstrate the need for small groups to develop historic ministry within the local church to effectively minister to the whole.
